ca. 1800s; .44 or .45 caliber percussion rifle with a 41” octagon barrel, no serial number, single trigger, dark brown patina barrel finish, the barrel measures approx. 0.965” at the muzzle and breech. The barrel marked “J.H. Johnston.” with the lock plate marked “London Warranted”. The lock plate with a worn gray patina, striped full-length stock, brass butt plate, trigger guard, decorative patch box, side plate and ferrules, includes a ramrod; there is a decorative eagle with shield inlaid into the left side of the butt, which is a trademark of Johnston, [Note: J.H.
